Title: Grant Compliance and Housing Support Services
Reports To: Director of Housing & Operations

Our mission: To provide quality housing opportunities for Mid-South residents through financial education, affordable loan products, home building and renovation, and creating innovative partnerships with public, private and nonprofit entities.

Improving the quality of affordable housing stock is a key strategy toward neighborhood revitalization and community development. Beyond the impact to the property value and tax base, resident engagement and citizen pride are dramatically affected by their built environment.

Description of Program
United Housing provides construction services in a number of ways:

• Rehab for Resale - UHI purchases properties in targeted communities, many of which are foreclosures, for renovations and resale to qualified homebuyers and lease-purchase candidates
• New Construction for Sale - UHI identifies vacant lots and abandoned properties for demolition for infill development. These projects range from single scattered site development to multiple unit subdivisions.

The disposition strategy involves an extensive marketing component aimed at giving a wide range of clients the opportunity to see the available properties and contact United Housing. UHI encourages the use of private sector real estate agents in order to maximize the impact of federal grant funding.
 

BASIC JOB FUNCTION
Responsible for ensuring that UHI successfully complies with federal, local, state and private grant programs in order to maintain progress report and program accountability.

This position will work independently and in collaboration with Housing and accounting Staff to execute daily responsibilities, and special projects. This person will also be responsible for the management of Housing and accounting documentation new and old, for organizational effectiveness and reporting accuracy.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
• Degree in Business or Nonprofit Management or similar field preferred
• Or 3+ years in a related field
• MS Office, Adobe and knowledge of online data management software

Knowledge and Skills
• Requires the ability to learn multiple operational software systems
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Good organization skills and problem solving, detail oriented

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent must perform certain tasks including but not limited to:
• Provide analysis of program impact via tracking and updating production data
• Work with funders and government entities to ensure timely reporting and compliance
• Physical inspections of homes inside and out
• Assist with coordination of the work scope, bidding and implementation of housing programs
• Collect and enter housing data into data management system
• Bill appropriate agency for payment to UHI for work completed
• Plan and conduct neighborhood meetings and outreach for housing programs
• Assist in management of United Housing real estate rental and for sale properties
• Complete all tasks as assigned by Director of Housing and Operations
