What is 901HELP?
901HELP provides 10-year, low-interest home repair loans between $5,000 and $25,000 to low and moderate-income homeowners in the City of Memphis who meet income and other eligibility requirements. Homeowners must have owned and occupied their single family or duplex home for at least twelve (12) months.
Total income for all residents living in the home cannot exceed the limits listed below:

What kinds of home repairs are eligible for this loan program?
If the home has health and safety hazards, those issues must be addressed first before other repairs can be made. The following are sample projects:
Correcting health and safety hazards including removal of lead (required)
Electrical repairs
Furnace replacement
Roof replacement
Plumbing
Energy efficiency upgrades
Door and window replacements
Porches and structural support

At United Housing, we understand a home in need of repairs can put financial stress on families. To combat those issues, UHI offers a home repair loan program for those who need to make critical updates.
Loan amounts from $5,000-$15,000.
Very low, fixed interest rate of 1.5%.
10 year-term to pay off the loan.
No appraisal is required.
Is the Home Repair Loan for me?
The Home Repair loan can be used for improvements* including but not limited to: roofing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, systems (HVAC, water heater, etc.), weatherization and energy conservation (windows, doors, insulation), handicapped accessibility improvements, safety and security upgrades, exterior repairs, and code violations.
*This loan is not for cosmetic remodels. A United Housing home inspector will work with you on qualified repairs and work is to be completed by one of UHI’s many reliable contractor partners.
Do I qualify for the Home Repair Loan Program?
Be a Shelby County resident.
Be the owner of the property in need of repairs.
Have a minimum credit score of 580.
Proof of homeowners insurance.
Current property taxes paid.
Be discharged or dismissed of any bankruptcy charges over the past 24 months.
Reasonably prove that income will continue for 3 years.
