Percy Seldon came to United Housing looking for financing to repair the home he grew up in. “I decided to move back into the home since it was our family home, but it needed a lot of repairs because it was an old house. And it was in the Orange Mound community where we grew up.” said Seldon. “United housing, wanted to try to keep people in their homes, in the community to have restorative community, to bring it up a level, you know, so people can be proud of it.” Our loan officer worked one-on-one with Seldon to get him approved for our affordable home repair loan. “It was just a life changer, you know. It made all the difference in the world and it kind of helped me with my grieving process because I felt like my sister would’ve been happy.” said Seldon
